Thankful

This month, we have been especially mindful of things for which we are thankful.  Students brainstormed many things that they are thankful for and student council asked us to choose one related to school.  We voted, and we realized most students were thankful for President Eisenhower.  I know that our students are very proud to have our school named after a president, but I wasn't too sure that they knew much about President Eisenhower.  Fortunately, our librarian, Mrs. Yokoshima had some books and old magazines about Dwight D. Eisenhower, which we read this week.

Students also reflected on how thankful they are for Earth's beauty, and made a thankful book in class.
